We use intraoral cameras at The Village Dental Center so our team can easily and clearly see inside a patient’s mouth. The intraoral camera helps us to identify damaged teeth, plaque deposits, or cavities, ensuring that patients receive the treatment they need. The intraoral camera is very small, making it comfortable and easy to use inside a patient’s mouth. When the camera is in use, it will display its footage on the monitor. This advanced dental tool helps our team make informed decisions about a patient’s dental health and treatment.

At The Village Dental Center, we utilize CEREC technology. CEREC is advanced dental technology that assists with restoring damaged teeth. A huge benefit of CEREC is its ability to create dental crowns in a single day, so patients only have to visit our office once to get their crown placed. CEREC also uses metal-free, high-grade ceramic material that is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth. It is also incredibly strong and has a natural appearance so the patient can still smile with confidence.

While traditional impressions require a patient to bite down on a putty-like substance for several minutes, digital impressions are much less intrusive. The radiation-free laser will create a 3D impression of a patient’s mouth within a few short minutes. These digital impressions are critical for our doctors to determine which, if any, dental treatment is needed such as crowns, veneers, bridges, implants, or clear aligners.

Cone-beam computed tomography is a type of dental x-ray equipment that can be found in out-patient offices. It works to produce 3-D images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone when a regular dental or facial x-ray is insufficient.  The purpose of these x-rays is to provide more detailed images of the jaw, and other bony structures of the face, like nasal cavities and sinuses. It does not provide all the details a conventional CT scan would, though, like details of soft tissue, muscle, and nerves.

Our doctors utilize this modern dental technology to be able to place precision dental implants as well as perform other dental restoration procedures. CBCT scanner technology allows for safer, more effective, and more precise dental treatments that help to ensure our Sun City West patients receive the highest standard of professional dental care possible.
