A dental crown is a restoration procedure used to fix broken, cracked, worn, or partially broken down teeth due to tooth decay.
What is a dental crown? A dental crown is a full-covering cap that will be cemented onto a tooth. When the procedure is finished, the dental crown becomes the new outer surface of your tooth. At Sun City West, we use CEREC crowns because it gives the crown a more natural look.
Occasionally, we might need to do a partial crown. Partial crowns are used when a tooth does not have sufficient strength to hold a dental filling.
In contrast to other dental offices, where a temporary crown is often placed while waiting for the actual crown, resulting in an additional appointment for placement, our office offers a more convenient solution. Dr. Harmon or Dr. Chesser will personally design your crown using 3D software on our CEREC machine, which will then be sent to our in-office lab. The crown will be prepared in just 45 minutes and can be immediately cemented and used, eliminating the need for a separate visit.
In our Sun City West office, we offer same-day dental crowns so you can spend more time doing what you love and less time at the dentist’s office.
