Your First Visit
Your first visit to our office is important to us. When you visit, we will take several steps to make sure we can offer you the highest quality care each time you visit.
Your first visit will include an X-ray. This will allow us to view the structure of your jaw, the position of your teeth that have not erupted, roots that have not formed properly and tooth decay.
During your first visit, we will also review your medical history. When sharing your medical history, please provide us the most complete, up-to-date information about your health as possible. Please inform our office if you have recently been hospitalized, undergone a surgical procedure or been sick. Also, if you are taking any medication, please tell us the name of the medication, the doses and the frequency of your prescription(s). This information is intended to select the safest and most effective method of treatment for you.
We encourage all of our patients age four and up to schedule regular checkups for several reasons, including:
To diagnose problems you might not see or feel
Find early signs of decay
Treat oral health problems early, while they are still manageable
When you come in for your regularly scheduled checkups, your mouth and teeth will receive a thorough cleaning, polishing and an oral exam. During the oral exam, Dr. Harmon will check your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks and tongue to make sure you and your mouth are healthy. In addition, Dr. Harmon will check your existing fillings and restorations to ensure they have not worn away, chipped or cracked.
When you come in for your regularly scheduled checkups, they will normally last about 45 minutes to an hour. We want to serve as many patients as we can. In order to do that, we work by appointment only. Additionally, we strive to be on-time for each appointment. In order to do that, we need your help. If you will be late or cannot keep an appointment, please notify our office immediately.
